Primary education is the first step in the process of schooling and educating children. Kodmo school has a primary education between grades of 1 and 4 as well as Kindergarten places. The number of students attending the primary education averages between 110 and 120 students each year. Currently the following numbers attend each grade of the primary school of Kodmo Education Fund.

Kindergarten 15 children
First Grade 30 students
Second Grade 35 students
Third Grade 15 students
Fourth Grade 12 students

The primary education follows the Somali national education system that divides the course of schooling into three categories in which each consists of 4 grades, i.e 4 grades in primary education, 4 grades in intermediate education and 4 grades in secondary education. This system works better in the present situation and everybody appreciates and understands the process of educating children both parents and teachers as well as children themselves.
